Do you still believe?

i have found a lot of people no longer believe in god or jesus since leaving the organization.. im very shocked at this.

if you dont believe, can you tell me what brought to that conclusion?.

i was told to look at the thread that one of the members in this forum has created, they are very interesting, but i wanted to get a some feed back from different individuals.. thanks!

Now that I've had 15 years to let the brainwashing erode away, I've come to some conclusions on the subject of God and The Bible.

I personally think it's rediculous to believe that there is some Genie floating around in Outer Space pulling the puppet strings.

The Bible states that "God is Love", and then also states that "God is a jealous God". So which is it? Love and jealousy are like oil and water. And on the subject of love, would an all-loving God destroy an entire civilization because they didn't have the same opinion on what their ideals of morals are? Or did His jealousy get the better of Him? Consider how many people have been slaughtered in the Name of Christ over the centuries. (Or Allah, for that matter.)

"Thou shalt not kill". I seem to remember more than one biblical war in which God acted on the side of His favorite team.

"The Lion will eat straw like the Bull."-Give me a break.

There is solid evidence that evolution is happening right before our eyes.

I could go on and on. Atheism just makes sense to me.

What were you disfellowshipped for?

just curious,if anyone dosent mind sharing..myself,id been out in the real world for 11 years,married twice,etc etc,and the 'trio of guys in bad suits' came over one night and told me that i was being charged w/adultery and fornication..my then boyfriend,and i laughed so hard that we forgot to sic the dog on 'em...funny,cause one of the guys id lived with,a few years prior,an elders son,not baptized,but in good standing,never got even so much as a stern talking to..i remember one of the last meetings i went to as a teenager.the 'trio" came to my parents house and said that i wasnt to come to meetings braless anymore,that it was disturbing the brothers and making them have impure thoughts..and that by me being in a band,in the 'world',i was opening myself to satan...what a bunch of weirdos.especialy since one of my "fondest" memories is of being out in feield service,alone w/an elder,and him having his pants open in the car,and his penis sticking out the whole time.i was like 10,and wasnt sure exactly what the issue was,guess i was a bit naive,but he kept touching it and looking at me..this was a big cheese elder at the time too..very highly thought of and all..again,what a bunch of wierdos....

A few months before my 18th B-day, I was with a group of "worldly" friends, and a pretty major act of vandalism occured involving a Sherrif's Patrol Car. I was arrested for my involvement (even though I did not participate directly in the act). It got a lot of news press. I was called into a judicial meeting as soon as I got out of jail. I was told that I had brought reproach on Jehovah's Name and His Organization and was quickly DF'd. Another reason cited for my dismissal was, and I'm not kidding here, the fact that someone had observed me listening to The Doors. I fessed up to this apparently serious transgression, but was amazed at some of the things that my supposed "friends" and "brothers" had accused me of that were completely false. One person said that he had seen me beat up my mom and sister (rediculous). Someone else said that there was a videotape circulating that featured me and my girlfriend having sex. (sadly, I was still a virgin at 18). Another one said that I was experimenting with the occult. When I found out that all these people were saying all of these crazy things about me, I told them that they could keep their "Organization". Best thing that ever could have happened to me.

I'm originally from Utah (Redneck Central).
I go fishing once a week.
I drive a truck
have an impressive gun collection.
Tattoos.
I like to wear boots.
I loathe hip-hop.
I go horseback riding alot.
I'm sort of dim-witted.

Here are some non-redneck points...

I hate Country Music
Wrangler butts do not drive me nuts.
I don't own a Realtree camoflauge jacket.
I think rodeos support animal cruelty.
I believe that all men are created equal (not a racist).
I don't have silhouettes of reclining, naked women on my truck's mudflaps. (or anywhere else for that matter).
I can accept a compliment from a hairy, gay man(joelbear), without being offended.

I dunno, you be the judge.

which character do you identify with most?

i was a well-read kid and my favorite series of books were the elric saga by michael moorcock.

When I was a little kid, I really liked the Chronicles of Prydain. This is a 5 book series that is based on Welsh legend and written by award winning author, Lloyd Alexander. I really connected with the main character, Taran of Caer Dallben. He started out as an assistant pig-keeper nobody with no knowledge of his lineage or where he came from and ended up becoming High King of the whole land. He was a hero for me when I was a little guy. I acually went through and read the series again recently. I recommend these books for your kids.

any good pranks????....

now this might be childish and immature but we all have our moments... i was thinking of some pranks to pull on the kh and one i thought of is calling during every meeting doing different voices (block your number) and ask for pizza, chinese food, you name it.

also i work at a call center for a magazine company and i was thinking that on my last day that i will set up a trial subscription for them they will get sooo much junk mail and invoices hehe .

any good ideas of more pranks?

Quietly slip into the KH during a meeting. Go to the restroom and remove the toilet tank cover. Drop a nice big steamer into the toilet tank. Replace the lid and slip back out of the KH smiling to yourself for successfully delivering "The Upper Decker".

Prayer was never comfortable for me. My in-laws always used to ask me to say the blessing for Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. I hate praying out loud. I finally asked them to give me a Get Out Of Prayer Free Card. Even as a Witness I seldom practised personal prayer. And even then it was usually for forgiveness after just finishing punching the clown.

I seem to remember my folks reminiscing about how some of the Elders would enjoy a nice cigarette before and after the meetings, and that this was acceptable until the '50's....Or maybe I'm full of mularkey. I'm pretty sure I remember this though.
